Well today was a nice Halloween. I gave each co-worker a goodie bag filled with treats and I got to use my Halloween stamps that only cost me $1.00. I also wore a cute Halloweeen shirt from Old Navy that cost me $5.00. Yes I am a cheap shopper!
Since I had school tonight I wasn't on planning doing anythng special, but my teacher let us out at 6:30pm. So I hurried home and told Alex we should order some pizza, open a bottle of wine and watch a scray movie in the dark....and we did! It was nice and a little scary cause of the movie.
We got a few trick or treaters so luckily I had some extra candy left over.
But as usual Alex had to go to bed which meant we had to end the night early. But it was a nice Halloween for 2006.
Now can't wait for my Christmas spirit to kick in!

Pink Awareness
Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness, Lifetime had a movie that just ended and was so good. it was about a young woman who had breast cancer and she was going to have to go thru chemo, changes in her marriage, and her life itself. The most admiring thing that I noticed about her is she wore red lipstick to give her courage. If when she was losing her hair, she dressed up in her pumps, walked with confidence and of course her red lipstick.
Check your local listing cause it's worth seeing.
My great-grandma had breast cancer and she fought it not only once but twice. She died a few years ago, not of cancer, but natural causes. But as I remember her today she was a courageous woman and never let anything get to her. I'm thinking going thru her obstacle with cancer it had to made her a strong woman.
So please, check yourself regularly, support breast cancer and if you can contribute in any way, please do so. Tell you girl friends, mom, sister, aunts, grandmas, co-workers, anyone that you care for inform them of breast cancer.
BTW..Payless Shoes is having a Pink BOGO in heart of breast cancer, so I will be making a visit to purchase some pink shoes and purchase the key chain as the profits go to a foundation.

Lazeiness
This weekend was again another eposiode of relaxation. Yesterday and today we did not wake up till 11:00am! It was so nice to sleep in. Yesterday we just chilled in bed to about 3 and then headed to our friends house for a b-day party. It was nice to see them since it's been so long since we've hung out. We had pizza and watch the movie The Omen. It was a lil freaky but I have to say it was good.
Today, we just got back from Denny's and Alex is now putting together my scrapbook tower! I'm so excited cause I got another idea for my scrapbook storage. We have this other wall that would be perfect for a shelf and some cute baskets to store all my stuff. So if I have time later I might head over to the Container Store and pick up a shelf or two.
Now off to write my final paper for Humanties.

Added Touch to Our Nest
Tomorrow we are getting our main wall in the apartment painted! YAY! I know I know some you are thinking why just one wall and why paint the inside of your apt? So we asked our manager if we can paint and we can. All we do is move our stuff..no cost, no mess! We've decided on a warm beige color since it goes with our decor in the living room well most of the apt anyway. =)
We are currently saving for a house and we are hoping in about 3-4 years we will be able to buy since during that time I will be 1/2 way done with college and there won't be so much pressure. Maybe the house market will be good at that time. Who knows right?
Just thinking about buying is so stressful! I mean we just want to be smart about it all, be able to afford the mortgage every month withou going into debt and refinance every 6 months, and buy a house that doesn't need a $50,000 makeover that you can't afford! I know it's a good investment and a good tax break but if that is so then why are most homeowners in DEBT! If you really wanted an investment shouldn't you have a 401(k) Plan?
I don't know I'm just not all that thrilled about debt and going into debt. I guess for me and the hubs we want to buy a house, having savings, and still live comfortable just like we do now. In a way I think we are really smart when it comes to money...we think realistically and not a fairytale life cause that is what gets most people in trouble.
But I already have plans we when do get our dream home...I'm going to have scrapbook room, big kitchen so I can bake and have some SPACE, we would like to turn the garage into a lil gym for us, must have pergo flooring, and new appliances. Isn't that asking to much? HEHEHEHE
Well soon as the "wall" get decorated I post a picture!

I'm a Geek
So I've been taking this reading class for my GE courses and the teacher suggested that the new vocab words we get each week, we are to create flashcards labeling the new word and defintion. At first I was like no way, but I just finsihed making my new flash cards and they are in fun pastel colors! Which means I can easily toss them in my purse and bust them out and pratice them.
Some might say that is silly, but for me it's an advantage since most of my friends are college graduates and sometimes they say words that I have no idea what they mean and will be in conversations and not understanding what they are saying. But now I can express my new found words!
YAY!

Desire to Bake and Craft

Here is the Pumpkin Cheese Bread that I just made. It taste so YUMMY!
I'm bringing a loaf over tonite to share with my scrapbook friends. Hope they enhoy it! =)
I just ordered the Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade dessert book. I've been wanting this book for a really long time. So since it was on sale I've decided to order it. If it comes in the mail this week I am going to have to put it to use!
For some reason I'm in the mood for scrapbooking and baking. So this weekend we have no plans..YAY..so I think I might have to play Martha Stewart. Luckily my friend is having a workshop Saturday morning so that will be good because I can kick-off the weekend right. But I'll have to stick with my bidget..$40.00. =(
I will post pictures over the weekend on my desserts and crafts.

I Love Shopping!
Since it was me and Alex's weekend with his parents we stayed the nite and hung out. Saturday consists of drinking wine, candy, and watching movies. Today I went shopping with my SIL and we had so much fun! I got some cute shirts for A & F. I don't usually shop there since a.) you have to be super skinny and b.) it's way expensive, but they were having a good sale on their shirts. Since I needed some weekend clothes I figured why not? Then I got some converse (now me and Alex can match; he has a pais), a cute pink sweater from the Gap and some other "things" from Victoria Secrets.
I just love the sales!!!

The Leaves are Falling
Well we have received our first day of rain on Sunday and I must say that I enjoyed it. I am now ready for the fall because it calms me down and brings me to relaxation. Don't get me wrong I love summer, but it tends to stress me out! So now that I know it's going to start raining I am thrilled. It also means I can now slowly but surely get into the upcoming holidays. More baking, more DVD nights, Pumpkin Spice lattes, sweaters, scarves, UGG boots and last but not least my stress levels goes down!
So that means I'm going to have to take a trip to Michael's this weekend and pick up some fall decor (I can't find mine from last year)! Although I did buy a few pumpkin spice and vanilla spice candles so I can put the to use now.
Well I must go now to finish my paper. =(

Weekend Wrap-Up
Yesterday we went and bought a new TV and DVD player. We purchased a Phillips 27" for $250.00 at Walmart. What a Good Deal, right! So we put the new TV in the living room and placed the old one in the bedroom. We defintely put the TV and DVD player to use last nite and watched some DVD's.
Today we just relaxed and ran some errands. I took my car in and went to Michaels and Scrapbook Dreams to get a few things for some cards I will be making.
Tonight I am meeting with my scrapbook friends to watch the season premier of Desperate Housewives!
Can't Wait!!!!

Much Needed Break
Well today was a much needed REST day. I've been s tired lately since I've been back at school and work is busy. So when I was waking up this morning I was so tired and exhausted I decided to not go into work and take the time to sleep. I know that it's not the smartest thing to do, but in order for me to succeed at everything I do I needed this time to rest. I literally slept all day and it was so nice to get caught up.
Part of the reason I'm so tired is I'm just non-stop at everything. I realized that I was burning myself out by trying to go to school, work, spend time with friends and family and there was no balance. So I've decided to take some time out and not make so many plans with people. I'm going to need to use my weekend to do homework and rest. I know that I have to see my friends and family and I will but I'm going to balalance it all out. I also thought being busy was fun in a way, not sure which way, but I realize it's not. I need my sanity and energy to do well. Especially that I'll be starting my new position soon at work I want to do %100 so I need my rest.
Well enough about that..on another note I'm so excited that this weekend me and Alex are FINALLY getting a TV for the bedroom! Which means we are going to be spending alot of time in the bedroom watching DVD's on the weekends! YAY! See little things like this make me happy!
Well now it's time to get ready for work and school. Until next time............

What A Happy Turn-Out
Today was my parent's 5-year wedding anniversary! I decided to get the family together for a brunch and celebrate their love. I went to Whole Foods and got some fruit, champagne and OJ for some mimosas. Then I headed to Panera Bread and got some yummy bagels.
My family loved Panera Bread and loved the entire brunch. As for gifts my parents loved the scrapbook and it just brought everyone to tears. They also loved the pictures of the kids as well.
In the end my parents thanked me and they all said I am the best daughter for giving them a brunch and celebrating their special day with the family.
I am just so blessed to have a loving and warm family. Aside from all the family drama we really know how to come together to celebrate and have a fun-filled day.

Coming to an End
Well since Alex is out bowling with some friends...he joined a league. So I had some "free" time to wrap up my parents' wedding scrapbook and I just have 2 more pages and I am done! YAY! It was alot of work and MONEY, but I've learned new techniques so when I start to work on another book. Not sure which one since I have three pending albums. I have a "friends", "family" and Chapter 2 of me and Alex. I guess I can work on all 3 at the same time as events or special moments occur.
Well gottta go now to do some homework! BOO HOO!!!!!!!

Scrapbook Fest 2006-Part 1
This past Saturday was my scrapbook party and it turned out good! I was pretty much Martha Stewart, but not as perfect as her! I made cupcakes that stood on a cupcake stand, buffalo wings, and other snacks. I also went to Michael's and made each guest a cute goody bag. It contained Halloween stickers for a card or scrapbook page, stamp and a hold puncher. They really enjoyed and appreciated it all!
I was able to work on my parents book and it's coming out so cute! Luckily my friends had a few ideas and products I was able to use to make the page stand out more. I'm so going to have to take another trip to Michael's to grab more crafty supplies!
In the end we had fun and I enjoyed myself very much!

What a day!
Today was such a crazy day! I started school this week so I can to take care a few things and still be at work at the same time. So I'm tired, but for some reason still up and online!
Gotta love myspace and Blogger!
Although I am looking forward to this Saturday since it's my scrapbook party and I have a few things going on with that. I'm baking and making lil gifts for my guests. I tend to go overboard, but hey that is just me! =)
Well good nite!

Carmel was so nice!

Well we headed up to Carmel yesterday and had such a good time. We went to two wineries and did some wine tasting. Man after the 3rd glass I was so feeling it, but being me I ended up drinking more. We went to Heller Estates which was really cute and cozy. The staff was really nice to us. Then we went to Bernandus...now that was nice but straight up posh! If you drove a Mercedes and looked like a million dollars they were extra nice, therefore me and Alex are either so we got fair treatment. Afterwards we headed to Carmel Beach on Ocean Avenue and went to the lil shops. Had some lunch at this ice Italian resturant and then to my suprise we headed to Tiffany's and Alex bought me this cross! We just went it to "look" and I saw that necklace and I though well I'll save for it, but Alex was like we'll take it. AWW SO SWEET,RIGHT? Then, we headed to the beach and just snuggled up and watch the other beach goer's and all the cute kids. Since the sun had gone away we weren't able to see the sunset so we just headed home.
It was such a good day to spend with Alex since we don't spend too much time alone. Can't wait for the next "date".
