Pre-Spring Cleaning

I know Spring is not till another month, but I wanted to check some tasks of my list. I started today by cleaning out the pantry. I got rid of alot of stuff. I then organized my scrapbook stuff (this is an ongoing process) and did some online browsing for shelving. Since we have an apartment and will not be moving anytime soon it lacks storage space. So in our mini-hallway I want to get some shelves where I can place more of my hand craft projects, books, and pictures. I want to get shelving for the bedroom as well.

I sort of have a wish list for cleaning/projects that I would like to accomplish in the next two month or so.

Here are a few of them:

-Nice pictures for the bathroom. I can purchase one at Michaels along with a wooden frame that I can paint
-Curtains for the bedroom. My aunt is going to help me make them.
-Pick out fabric for the curtains
-Mod Podge Plate
-Buy shelves for the hallway/bedroom
-Get my receipe scrapbook in order
-Clean out our closets
-Donate clothing and so forth

So as you can see I have quite a list. Knowing me I will get it done by April!

Fondue I Love

Last night Alex and I went to the Melting Pot for the first time. I have to say that it was fun! I liked the fact that we got to cook our own food and my favorite part was the chocolate. We had shrimp, lobster, meat of some sort, veggies,pasta and some vino from Italy that was astounding. It was yummy and filling.

There was even a balloon man and he made me a corsage. It was cute.

The bad part is the prices are overpriced, don't get a cocktail because the fill it up with ice and if you don't make reservations you don't get to experience it all. Lucky for us we had reservations.

It is also a perfect place to have date night. We are adding the restaurant to our list of splurges for date nights.

Date Night

Tonight's date night was a little different. Alex cooked dinner, while I did some scrapbooking and made a cute card for my friend who I am having dinner tomorrow night with. We are headed to the Melting Pot. She is too cute because when she made the reservations, the hostess has her what we are celebrating and she said love and friendship! So I figured why not make her a cute card right? I have a stamp that says "Live Love Laugh". Isn't it perfect for the occasion?


So now I am enjoying my 3rd glass of wine and going to get ready to get scared cause he wants to watch Saw 3. Wait.... did I say 3rd glass.....man I'm turning into a wine-a-loic! LOL

PS: Tomorrow I am off to see my hairstylist and I am cutting my hair shorter! I will post pictures on Sunday of the new do!

Last night we went and saw the movie. It has some comedy, was cute,funny, but could have been a little better. Although I do not favor Hugh Grant that was a major issue in my opinion. They should have chosen a better and cuter guy to play that part. As for Drew..well she was cute as ever!

All in all it is a movie rental.

To Do List

Today I am feeling a little hungover. Had to much vino!

So today I am doing the following:

1.Get rid of hangover
2.Drink some tea for my headache
3.Watch Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy
4.Lay in Bed
5.Read two chapters for school
6.Maybe go to usual scrapbook meet or movies with the in-laws. All depends on #1.

Alex's Birthday

Yesterday was Alex's birthday. So we celebrated it at home. I made dinner...yes girls I cooked! If you know me then you know that I do not enjoy it. I made tri-tip in the crock pot, pasta w/wine maneria sauce, white rice, and garlic bread. We had a lovely red wine to go with and for dessert a strawberry cheesecake from Safeway's frozen dept. So he couldn't have a cake w/o having me sing him Happy Birthday! So I did. As for the cheesecake it was tasty and I'm sure I will be buying more of Sara Lee.




I got him new these cool workout short for his jujitsu class.



If he had to grade me I think I he would have given me a B+.

Happy Valentine's Day

This year was a little different.

We didn't get to spend it together since Wednesday nites I go to my parents and watch the kids. SO instead I made the best of it. I got this cute V-day shirt from Target to go along with cute V-day socks and then I got a hand deliver bouquet of pink roses (my favorite color) from Alex and this funniest/cutest card. That made my day!

Although Friday is Alex's b-day we are going to celebrate V-day on Friday with a nice dinner prepared by Alex, a lovely dessert prepared by me, wine and a DVD.

With that said, Valentine's 2007 was a sweet one!

I Heart Grey's Anatomy

I am hooked! I just received Season 1 on DVD today in the mail. I'm on the 3rd episode and I am loving it. I just found a new show to replace the OC!

Good News

Some of you may be aware that Alex is in the process of changing careers/jobs. Well Comcast has called him back and he has an interview next Tuesday! We are so excited. This could potentially change things for the better. He will be home more, we get to spend more time together and actually live a normal married life! The bad news would be that he MIGHT take a pay cut, but after looking at our finances we will be okay. We might have to cut back, but I rather have him home more. So to us it is worth it. If this does fall thru he is also considering going back to school!

All in all things are looking good in the Life of the Zapien's.

I'm So Lazy!

So Alex and I woke up today and went out and grabbed some coffee at his brother's shop. I had two cups and I feel so lazy and fatigue. Shouldn't I have super energy?!?!

And poor Alex sprained his ankle at karate class. So he is crippled which means I have to cater to his every need. Which is fine, but I'm just lazy and I don't feel like moving!

Good thing I cleaned yesterday and paid the bills. I can just spend the rest of the day in bed reading and HOMEWORK! UGH!

She Did It!

Last night was my promtion dinner! Alex set up the whole thing. I was so impressed on how it turned out. Even though I don't like suprises I loved what he did. He ordered the cake, bought wine/drinks for all my friends, and gave me 3 dozen roses. I even got gifts and cards from my friends. That was so sweet of them!

We had dinner at Sonoma Chicken Coop. I was so happy and had so much fun. I think I even embarassed some of my friends because I do have to admit that I had a little too much to drink and I blurted out really loud...SCRAPBOOKERS FOR LIFE! But hey it was my party and I was having so much fun!

After dinner we did some bar hopping and that was fun to. My Friday night was a blast and a day I'll always remember.

New Day

The past few days I have been feeling grumpy. I'm not sure if it is the weather or just being a woman. I've been emotional, tired and just feel that eveyone is mad at me for some reason. It sucked!

But today I feel much better!

Since last night was date night we headed to a new hang out spot. Karma Cafe! Its my brother in laws new place. It is right by Santa Clara University...across the street from Su's resturant. They serve coffee, smoothies, sandwiches and pastries. We stood there for about 3 hours, had coffee, and watch a movie. Even though he just bought it, there is so much potential there. He wants to make it like Central Park, the coffee shop from Friends. I can see it totally being like that. I think Alex and I found a new hang out spot.
