Happy Halloween

Well today was a nice Halloween. I gave each co-worker a goodie bag filled with treats and I got to use my Halloween stamps that only cost me $1.00. I also wore a cute Halloweeen shirt from Old Navy that cost me $5.00. Yes I am a cheap shopper!

Since I had school tonight I wasn't on planning doing anythng special, but my teacher let us out at 6:30pm. So I hurried home and told Alex we should order some pizza, open a bottle of wine and watch a scray movie in the dark....and we did! It was nice and a little scary cause of the movie.

We got a few trick or treaters so luckily I had some extra candy left over.

But as usual Alex had to go to bed which meant we had to end the night early. But it was a nice Halloween for 2006.

Now can't wait for my Christmas spirit to kick in!

Pink Awareness

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness, Lifetime had a movie that just ended and was so good. it was about a young woman who had breast cancer and she was going to have to go thru chemo, changes in her marriage, and her life itself. The most admiring thing that I noticed about her is she wore red lipstick to give her courage. If when she was losing her hair, she dressed up in her pumps, walked with confidence and of course her red lipstick.

Check your local listing cause it's worth seeing.

My great-grandma had breast cancer and she fought it not only once but twice. She died a few years ago, not of cancer, but natural causes. But as I remember her today she was a courageous woman and never let anything get to her. I'm thinking going thru her obstacle with cancer it had to made her a strong woman.

So please, check yourself regularly, support breast cancer and if you can contribute in any way, please do so. Tell you girl friends, mom, sister, aunts, grandmas, co-workers, anyone that you care for inform them of breast cancer.

BTW..Payless Shoes is having a Pink BOGO in heart of breast cancer, so I will be making a visit to purchase some pink shoes and purchase the key chain as the profits go to a foundation.

Scrapbook Tower

It's done and put too use!

I need to fix our computer cords...it looks ugly.

Lazeiness

This weekend was again another eposiode of relaxation. Yesterday and today we did not wake up till 11:00am! It was so nice to sleep in. Yesterday we just chilled in bed to about 3 and then headed to our friends house for a b-day party. It was nice to see them since it's been so long since we've hung out. We had pizza and watch the movie The Omen. It was a lil freaky but I have to say it was good.

Today, we just got back from Denny's and Alex is now putting together my scrapbook tower! I'm so excited cause I got another idea for my scrapbook storage. We have this other wall that would be perfect for a shelf and some cute baskets to store all my stuff. So if I have time later I might head over to the Container Store and pick up a shelf or two.

Now off to write my final paper for Humanties.

Added Touch to Our Nest-UPDATE

Added Touch to Our Nest

Tomorrow we are getting our main wall in the apartment painted! YAY! I know I know some you are thinking why just one wall and why paint the inside of your apt? So we asked our manager if we can paint and we can. All we do is move our stuff..no cost, no mess! We've decided on a warm beige color since it goes with our decor in the living room well most of the apt anyway. =)

We are currently saving for a house and we are hoping in about 3-4 years we will be able to buy since during that time I will be 1/2 way done with college and there won't be so much pressure. Maybe the house market will be good at that time. Who knows right?

Just thinking about buying is so stressful! I mean we just want to be smart about it all, be able to afford the mortgage every month withou going into debt and refinance every 6 months, and buy a house that doesn't need a $50,000 makeover that you can't afford! I know it's a good investment and a good tax break but if that is so then why are most homeowners in DEBT! If you really wanted an investment shouldn't you have a 401(k) Plan?

I don't know I'm just not all that thrilled about debt and going into debt. I guess for me and the hubs we want to buy a house, having savings, and still live comfortable just like we do now. In a way I think we are really smart when it comes to money...we think realistically and not a fairytale life cause that is what gets most people in trouble.

But I already have plans we when do get our dream home...I'm going to have scrapbook room, big kitchen so I can bake and have some SPACE, we would like to turn the garage into a lil gym for us, must have pergo flooring, and new appliances. Isn't that asking to much? HEHEHEHE

Well soon as the "wall" get decorated I post a picture!

Pumpkin Weekend

Yesterday I took my lil sister and brother to the Pumpkin Patch. Since I was a "Pretty Little Lady" I got 3 medium size pumpkins for $10.00!

As from my previous post I also made a Pumpkin Cheese Bread. It came out so tasty!

Here are some pictures from the patch.

I'm a Geek

So I've been taking this reading class for my GE courses and the teacher suggested that the new vocab words we get each week, we are to create flashcards labeling the new word and defintion. At first I was like no way, but I just finsihed making my new flash cards and they are in fun pastel colors! Which means I can easily toss them in my purse and bust them out and pratice them.
Some might say that is silly, but for me it's an advantage since most of my friends are college graduates and sometimes they say words that I have no idea what they mean and will be in conversations and not understanding what they are saying. But now I can express my new found words!

YAY!

Desire to Bake and Craft

Here is the Pumpkin Cheese Bread that I just made. It taste so YUMMY!

I'm bringing a loaf over tonite to share with my scrapbook friends. Hope they enhoy it! =)

I just ordered the Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade dessert book. I've been wanting this book for a really long time. So since it was on sale I've decided to order it. If it comes in the mail this week I am going to have to put it to use!

For some reason I'm in the mood for scrapbooking and baking. So this weekend we have no plans..YAY..so I think I might have to play Martha Stewart. Luckily my friend is having a workshop Saturday morning so that will be good because I can kick-off the weekend right. But I'll have to stick with my bidget..$40.00. =(

I will post pictures over the weekend on my desserts and crafts.

I Love Shopping!

Since it was me and Alex's weekend with his parents we stayed the nite and hung out. Saturday consists of drinking wine, candy, and watching movies. Today I went shopping with my SIL and we had so much fun! I got some cute shirts for A & F. I don't usually shop there since a.) you have to be super skinny and b.) it's way expensive, but they were having a good sale on their shirts. Since I needed some weekend clothes I figured why not? Then I got some converse (now me and Alex can match; he has a pais), a cute pink sweater from the Gap and some other "things" from Victoria Secrets.

I just love the sales!!!

The Leaves are Falling

Well we have received our first day of rain on Sunday and I must say that I enjoyed it. I am now ready for the fall because it calms me down and brings me to relaxation. Don't get me wrong I love summer, but it tends to stress me out! So now that I know it's going to start raining I am thrilled. It also means I can now slowly but surely get into the upcoming holidays. More baking, more DVD nights, Pumpkin Spice lattes, sweaters, scarves, UGG boots and last but not least my stress levels goes down!

So that means I'm going to have to take a trip to Michael's this weekend and pick up some fall decor (I can't find mine from last year)! Although I did buy a few pumpkin spice and vanilla spice candles so I can put the to use now.
Well I must go now to finish my paper. =(
